Exciting times in Room 11

Writing

We have been learning all about Character Writing. Each week we studied a character in a book and then gathered our ideas.  

We learned to write......

• the name of the character, 
• what they look like and
• what they are doing.

This is only the beginning of our journey to become better writers.

Here are a few of our stories...

My dad’s name is Mark. He is tall and has dark brown eyes and he likes hugging me. I love my dad because he is the best dad ever. He enjoys going to work. By Alex

My dad’s names is Mark and his eyes are as green as the grass. He wears glasses and has a big smile. My dad likes building things at homes for our TV.

We also have been learning to add persuasive detail to our writing.

We should not kill ants because they are hard workers. They gather food for the nest all year long.

I like ice cream because it has mre flavours and popcorn has only one or two. Once I had ice cream and it was the best ever.

Ice cream is better than popcorn because they have so many flavours. Once I had an ice cream with six flavours. It was strawberry, bananna, blueberry and more.
